Bridging the Gap in Tomahawk
A new bridge is coming – and even when the old bridge comes down, banking won't become an inconvenience for those who use Park City Credit Union. According to President and CEO, Val Mindak, a lease has been signed to open a temporary branch office on the south side of Tomahawk, at 302 S. Tomahawk Avenue. Park City Credit Union will occupy the north half of the building, with a separate entry from the insurance agency that occupies the remaining space.
"We've targeted the last week in September to have the temporary location open," said President Mindak. "The plan is to keep it open through July," she added. Once open, all banking transactions will be available at the south side location, just as they are at the permanent offices in Tomahawk, Merrill, Minocqua, and Rhinelander.
Ms. Mindak sited convenience for their members as the determining factor for opening a temporary location. "So many of our members live and work south of the bridge, and at a credit union, they're the owners. It was hard to ask them to follow the detour just to deposit a check, for example. We pride ourselves in our commitment to our member/owners, and finding real solutions. We believe this will bring great value to anyone who banks with Park City Credit Union while the bridge construction takes place."
Starting in late-August, free Bridge-the-Gap kits will be available at the permanent north-side location of Park City Credit Union. The kits will highlight the temporary office, as well as means of conducting financial transactions without visiting a branch at all for members who may prefer electronic conveniences. Such means include use of online banking, automated phone transactions, and ATM/debit cards.
